MAZED

Description

Genoa is a port city—a place of encounters, exchanges, and cultural cross-pollination. From this small corner of the world, the Afrofuturist trio (Joao Choneca, Giancarlo Canazza, and Giovanni Battista Boccardo) observes and interprets their own reality, giving life to music in whichAfro, electronic, and funk sounds blend to create a unique and exhilarating groove. The convergence of cultures, languages, and sounds from various parts of the globe lies at the heart of their creative exploration—both musically and lyrically. Bantukemistry’s debut album stems from an urgent need to tell the story of the world around us, using music as a tool for observation and resistance. Each track is a brief journey through our experiences, social challenges, and the changes we are living through—all while maintaining rhythm, energy, and hope. The album serves as a manifesto: a declaration of one’s presence in the world, a way to engage with current events rather than remaining silent, and a celebration of love, hope, and the desire to live, travel, and dream. Afro, funk, jazz, and electronic elements—each one contributes to an intense, dynamic, and contemporary sonic experience, capable of both reflecting reality and infusing it with energy.
