Description

Cari Lekebusch has more aliases than most techno producers have releases: Braincell, Mr. James Barth, Shape Changer, Phunkey Rhythm Doctor, Rotortype and, here, Vector. Born in 1972 and raised in Stockholm, he was crate-digging and taping home experiments before he could legally get into clubs, and later became one of Sweden's and Europe's leading techno heads alongside Adam Beyer and Jesper Dahlback. These selected 1989-1992 cuts, first out on Glenn Wilson's Planet Rhythm, were recorded at David Osterberg's Flow Motion studio in Stockholm and take you back to his early days of refining the emerging underground. They're all suitably raw, lo-fi and gloriously fresh and sound like a young producer wrestling gear that barely synced, which makes them all the more alive and essential decades on.
