A Persuasive Argument

Description

To celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary, Truncate teamed up with long-time friend and colleague, Dustin Zahn. Despite remixing each other and performing together numerous times, the duo never recorded together...until now. The result of their studio sessions is 4 tightly-knit club tracks tailored specifically for the label. While each track carries an entirely different vibe, a common language ties it all together into a cohesive package. FIRST BATCH-limited splatter and 2nd batch solid black Slow Erosion ignites the EP with a heavy kick-off featuring rapid-fire synth work and relentless toms. The moody peak-time grooves make it fun for the whole family. If you don’t like yours, just play it on the dance floor. page1image50578448 page1image50578656 page1image50579280 Distant Haze features a cavernous tribal rhythm section with a synth that cuts through the mix and breaks the tension once and for all. Any and all fog machines are mandatory when played loud. Somewhat Ethical is easily the most melodic cut on the record. Late night riffs mesh effortlessly with arpeggios and constantly evolving basslines. Brain Rot closes the EP on a banging yet esoteric note. Anchored down by a constant rolling groove, the song emphasizes polymeter synth sequences and deep analog basslines. It’s a perfect soundtrack for those who probably should have gone home hours ago.
