DOOMSAYER

Description

King Buffalo return from a four year writing period full of thunder. Doomsayer finds the Rochester, New York power trio reinvented, more confident and explorative than ever before while retaining the core of their heavy psych rock sound. In the years following the release of the final installment of their "pandemic trio" - a series of records made in quick succession in the early 2020s - King Buffalo began work building their own full-fledged recording studio. For such a prolific band, the years long wait for a new record was uncharacteristic, but their return demonstrates the fruits of their labor. Doomsayer showcases some of the band's heaviest work, but also some of the most innovative. Guitarist/singer Sean Roa doubles down on his signature tight riffing style while also showing a growing interest in blues and space rock. Synthesizers pulse in lockstep with bassist Dan Reynolds and drummer Scott Donaldson, forming one of the tightest rhythm groups in psych rock. The band's heavy kraut-psych-stoner style is undeniably their own and has been honed with each release.
