Alfonzo LP

Description

The quintessential hidden gem from a Michael Jackson follower! Produced with the utmost respect for the greatness of MJ, from the sound to the visuals, this first album by Alfonzo is finally getting its first-ever vinyl reissue! Produced by Clay McMurray, who was active as a producer and arranger at Motown since the 60s for the likes of Smokey Robinson and The Supremes! The backing band includes members of Atlantic Starr such as Jonathan Lewis, ensuring an extremely high-level sound quality. From the opening track "Your Booty Makes Me Moody For Your Love," the vocals and sound resonate so perfectly they could be mistaken for Michael Jackson outtakes recorded during the *Off the Wall* (1979) to *Thriller* (1982) era. This is followed by a superb cover of Boz Scaggs' classic "Lowdown," which conjures up the luxurious fantasy of what it would sound like if Michael had sung this song. A must-have album not just for MJ fans, but for anyone who loves the 80s R&B sound!
