Description
Bruno Pronsato, the alias of American producer Steven Ford, has been a distinctive voice in underground electronic music since the early 2000s, with releases on influential labels such as Perlon, DFA and Orac. His sound blends experimental techno and minimal with intricate rhythms, unexpected patterns and a playful approach to groove. His albums Rare Normal (2024) and Autoportrait En Deux Coupes (2025) reflect his ongoing exploration of unconventional electronic music. In 2026, he continues to expand his catalogue with new collaborative releases alongside Richard Rozen, while also joining the Kooky Music family with a strong three-track EP. The first two tracks are longer adventures. Set Up The Rows is a strictly psychedelic minimal cut, a timeless tune for different times and occasions. It could work just as well during a warm-up as in the after-hours, well into the morning. Things Do follows a similar path, but with a slightly jazzier rhythm and a touch more mystery lurking beneath the surface. Both tracks feature trippy vocals that fit the Kooky vibe perfectly. The third cut, Manowski or Rad, brings a more jackin’ bassline and is definitely suited to peak-time sets. The shakers and percussion might get a few more hips moving, too, although this one is a shorter ride. A pretty complete EP, if you ask us.
