Wah Wah 45s Remixed: Vinyl Specials (2x12" + 7")

Description

For almost thirty years, Wah Wah 45s has been a beacon for genredefying, vinylcutting, gigloving music culture in the UK. Founded in the late 90s and steered by Dom Servini — North London DJ, radio host, party starter and longstanding tastemaker — the label continues to champion timeless songwriting, offbeat creativity and the electricity of live performance. With a rich history rooted in soul, jazz, funk and electronic funk, Wah Wah 45s remains proudly independent and fiercely committed to the community that has supported it from day one. This year marks one of the most ambitious releases in the label’s history with a 2 x 12” vinyl release that features twelve highly soughtafter remixes alongside a doublesided 7-inch with a further 2 remixes bringing together a remarkable constellation of artists who embody the spirit and breadth of Wah Wah 45s. The project features new music from Soothsayers, Lawne, Land of Echo, Raz & Alfa, Kotoa, Suborn Meets Clap! Clap!,IKE, Espen Horne, Bev Lee Harling, Afla Sackey and Jamie Finlay, each contributing their own distinct voice to the compilation’s expansive sound world. Their work is reimagined by an equally exciting group of remixers — including IG Culture, Aroop Roy, Medlar, Session Victim, Delfonic, Jamz Supernova, and Laroye — whose interpretations push the music into fresh, unexpected territory while staying true to the label’s forwardthinking ethos. Adding deep musical lineage and cultural weight, the album also proudly features Dele Sosimi, the legendary Afrobeat ambassador and former musical director of Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80, whose presence connects the project to one of the most influential musical movements of the last century. Across three beautifully curated records, the release moves fluidly between soulful songwriting, jazzinfused arrangements, funkdriven grooves, electronic textures and Afroinspired rhythms. It is a vivid snapshot of Wah Wah 45s’ past, present and future — a celebration of independence, community, vinyl culture and the belief that great music transcends genres. As Dom Servini says “Wah Wah 45s has always been about “beautiful music, made with heart, played loud, and shared with the people who’ve supported us all these years.” This album is exactly that: a love letter to the artists, the scene and the listeners who continue to make Wah Wah 45s a vital force in the vibrant and innovative UK music scene. d 04: Land of Echo - Lean Into Your Own Breath (IG Culture Remix) feat.
