NRV013

Description

Vid steps into different territory on his latest release for _NRV, revealing a brighter and more melodic side of his sound while retaining the stripped-back precision and subtle rhythmic language at its core. **Chapter 11** pairs a deep, rounded groove with warm melodic fragments that drift in and out of the arrangement, unfolding patiently through subtle shifts in rhythm and tone. **Cold Summer** takes a different route, driven by loose percussion and a restless, elastic sequence. Playful without losing its weight, its off-kilter momentum provides a distinct counterpoint to the more melodic character of the EP. **NoSleepProtocol** sits at the heart of the record, combining a tightly wound, propulsive groove with flashes of melody and strange electronic details that dart through the mix. Hypnotic, playful and deceptively driving, it's the kind of track built to reveal itself over a long blend. **Restless** closes the record by stretching out across more than nine minutes, gradually introducing melodic phrases and shifting textures over a hypnotic framework, bringing the EP's warmer, more expansive direction into full view.
