The next condition [Printed Sleeve]

Description

The Next Condition is the new six-track EP from Slit Observers, released on Fanzine Records. Built around ideas of contact, transformation and resistance, the record imagines a signal travelling across space until it reaches an inhabited world. What follows is deliberately unresolved: an approaching presence, autonomous machines sent ahead, the dismantling of an existing order and the emergence of something new. Fragments of voice - "We are the cure / We are the end / We are the signal", "Remove life", "Stop" and "Damage" - appear throughout the record like incomplete transmissions, leaving unclear who is arriving, who is resisting, or whether the process represents invasion, extinction, survival or evolution. Across six cuts of dark, machine-driven electro, The Next Condition leaves the final outcome to the listener.
