PAMELA are Sam Sprent, an English singer, and Simon Quénéa, a French producer. They met in Nantes and began making music together, blending rock, Britpop and dance music. An array of synths, guitars and beats that make you want to move: somewhere between LCD Soundsystem, The Cure and Soulwax. Following their debut EP, ‘LIVE. SHIFT. DREAM.’, and more than forty gigs, the duo are releasing their debut album, ‘Dancing on the Edge’. Co-produced with Pierre Cheguillaume, the 12-track album was mixed entirely by him and Simon. The twelve tracks were designed to flow seamlessly into one another, with transitions that make the record a single journey rather than a mere collection of songs. The lyrics explore themes of desire, addiction, grief, fatherhood, and those moments when you lose your footing a little.’Dancing on the Edge’ captures that feeling of dancing amidst the chaos, of enjoying the night without thinking too much about tomorrow. Because we don’t always know what lies ahead, we might as well keep moving.
