Description

Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers are back after the release of their first album, “The Gospel Of Jesamy,” with a brand new full-length album. Across nine songs, the record, titled “Like Every Day,” delves deeper into Arp Frique’s personal story, both musically and lyrically. The Amsterdam-based artist delivers a new goodie bag full of disco-not-disco oddities. Heavily inspired by all things funky, the first single “Guiding Light” jumps out immediately. This mid-tempo jam, packed with treats from Arp Frique’s vintage synth collection, has already found its way to international dancefloors in the months leading up to the album. The album also features more up-tempo, high-intensity firecrackers such as “Crossroads” and “Like Every Day.” The Perpetual Singers — a continuously evolving group of singers who also perform live with Arp Frique — were given extra superpowers on the new record, courtesy of the G-Roots gospel choir and stellar lead vocalist Stanley Clementina. They blend effortlessly with stalwarts like Marissa Nyamekye, Rocq-E Harrell, Jerilee Joanne Tholel, and Tez Thompson, who have been touring with the live group for the past few years. On Bob Dylan’s “The Ballad Of Hollis Brown,” for example, this fresh collection of voices comes together to echo Leon Russell’s version of the classic, exploring the boundaries of deep, late-night club music on the border between techno and gospel. Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers will be performing the new music live in 2027 and beyond, following a string of successes on the road, gracing the stages of We Out Here, Worldwide Festival, Sónar, Down The Rabbit Hole, Øya, Flow, and North Sea Jazz, to name a few.
