MOMENTS WITH MOODYMANN 2x12

Description

Moments With Moodymann is a celebration of all things Kenny Dixon Jr. Since the 90s, no producer has better exported that “Detroit” sound than Moodymann. In citing that bankrupted American city though, one means a very specific sound, one that writer Michaelangelo Matos described in an NPR story as “a byword for high-minded purism, a bulwark against ‘commercial’ dance music,” the music itself informed by “jazz chords, R&B melancholy, snatches of old soul and plenty of cosmic-mindedness.” Moments With Moodymann does exactly whats it says in the title. If you’ve ever shared some of these hard to find moments with Detroits finest then now's your chance to share them with the people you love. A Best of of sorts; Moments features some stone cold classics from the enigmatic heir to the Purple ones crown. An action packed album of soulful club nuggets from '97 to the 2020’s featuring some of his most sought after masterpieces chosen by the man himself; Lyk U Used 2, Dem Young Sconies, Shades of Jae, Let Me Show You Love, Black Mahogani and Freeki Mutha F Cker are just half of the quintessential bangers featured here.
