Description
Motech’s MT179 is a four-track EP rooted in Detroit techno and built straight for vinyl heads, pairing originals from DJ 3000 and Gerome Sportelli with remixes from Robert Hood and Truncate. Hood chops the vocal of “Hotel Oasiz” over a lean, relentless bassline for a stripped-down peak-time weapon, while DJ 3000’s “Eastern Market” channels the energy of Detroit’s historic market strip with sharp synth stabs anchored by a deep, funky bassline. On the flip, Truncate lays his signature jackin’ drum work over “Take Me” for a dark, punchy, sub-heavy tool, and Gerome Sportelli closes with “No Slide, ” locking rolling 303 squelches into a heavy, head-nodding groove of raw acid fun
