The Same Bong

Description

Originally released in 1997 on the cult Frankfurt imprint Liquid Rec., this rare three-track record was the brainchild of production duo Mr. Pod (Mr. Rod) and Dr. Nick. Alongside their work in the tranquil ambient and downtempo soundscapes of their celebrated Phonosynthese project, the duo was also fully embedded in the smoky, nocturnal basements of Frankfurt's legendary club scene. Spanning across three distinct variations—"Bamboobong", "Tone Bong", and "Clone Bong"—the EP is a masterclass in the transitional space where hypnotic progressive house, rolling tech-house, and subtle acid grooves collide. Characterized by sharp, driving percussion, deep-rolling basslines, and a distinctively playful underground attitude, CFRT006 breathes new life into a lost German gem, remastered and pressed to vinyl for the first time since '97 to prime it perfectly for contemporary dancefloors.
