B. Chamber (Stratum B), by B. Close, is the final of a two-part release chronicling the work of Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary artist Brian Close, following the release of Stratum A earlier in 2026. Again comprising of tracks selected from an archive of some 130+ works produced in rural Connecticut from 2021-2025, B. Chamber (Stratum B) offers further glimpses through the same prism, continuing the survey of Close’s distinctive approach to electronic music. Kinetic labyrinthine rhythms, twinkling galaxies of atmospheric pressure, an artillery of sounds of providence unknown, B. Chamber (Stratum B) closes the infinite loop on this time and place in Close’s work. Influences from the outside world seep in unexpected ways. from the martial arts chops of GANs In The Air and the machine learning referenced in the title, to New York artist Woodson Robins Legrand’s drawn-out intonation in Mediatic, the floating vocal cuts that ground Botanic Circuit, to the frenetic footwork of Mourning Class, and the forlorn, borderline comic trumpet on Playing Possum’s disorienting collapse. As alien as it often sounds these subtle signposts remind us that, despite the otherworldly work rate and inhabiting a sonic universe entirely of his own, B. Close is one of us. It’s a pleasure and a privilege to present this final installment of work from an artist who has likely amassed just as much if not more work in the time since this body was formed, and who has been a constant inspiration and creative north star to the label since day one. +++++
