Orchestral Tape Studies III (3xTAPE)

Description

If you have even a passing interest in ambient, you will be familiar with Zach 'zake Frizzell, a towering figure who continually sets the standard. He is decades and hundreds of releases deep at this point but still manages to mine new seams, not least on Orchestral Tape Studies III. The album is another orchestral universe made from tape with 18 movements slowly conjured up over a decade and written in the gaps between other projects. He calls it a slow-burning meditation, like a manuscript left open to age and wear with the passage of time. Hook up sixth collaborators like Brock Van Wey (bvdub) and Abul Mogard each push into new emotional territory on what is yet another devastatingly unhurried and quiet work of ambient escape.
