Description

Lanzieri approaches electronic music through hypnosis, repetition and constant movement. Drawing from progressive house, trance and techno, his music explores how subtle changes within repetitive structures can keep the body moving while taking the listener somewhere beyond the dancefloor. With Cosmic Encounter, released on Subterrain Records, these ideas unfold across four tracks balancing physical energy with deeper, more sensory moments. Opening the EP, Corpus channels the spirit of early Detroit techno through a guttural bassline and sharp, machine-like stabs. As the track develops, a distinctive acid bassline emerges, giving the groove a second push and sustaining its energy from beginning to end. The title track, Cosmic Encounter, dives deeper into hypnosis. Inspired by early progressive house, an endlessly looping melody meets shifting basslines, vast pads and trance-like percussion, creating an immersive space somewhere between progressive house, trance and techno. This one holds a special place within the label’s heart, as it was played by Mariiin on the Quarry stage on the final night of Houghton festival 2026 - with Aaron & Max on the dancefloor to witness it on that incredible sound system. Moving on to the flip side, Neptuno brings things firmly back to the dancefloor. A dark, house-driven groove meets the heavier character of techno, with an almost industrial bassline and shadowy melodies creating a nocturnal, body-focused workout built around continuous movement. Closing the record, Darkest Room turns inward. A deeply melancholic melody, almost crying in character, unfolds over driving techno drums and percussion. Dark, intimate and emotive, it closes Cosmic Encounter at its most human, leaving the listener with something beyond the dancefloor: a feeling, an image, or simply a different sensory experience.
