RUST LP 2x12"

Description

The b*tch is back! Returning with her first full length solo album since 2020’s Modern Bliss, the one & only ms. Roza Terenzi comes for your speakers & beepers with a fresh 2xLP entitled RUST – a chimeric concoction of epic proportion celebrating the herstoric 20th release on her esteemed imprint Step Ball Chain. Beginning as archives of the rediscovered joys of performing live & the carefree wonders of creation, RUST simultaneously exists as a return to source & another chapter in our intergalactic vixen’s expansive discography – filled to the brim with delectable earworms, devastating tenacity, & that signature twisted elegance we’ve all come to love from the dishy mistress herself. Sharpness & softness is contrasted amidst the lush & obscene, as minimalist maximalism meets fantastical restraint – the enemy of the mundane & the antidote to your drab discoteques. Sunbleached space bass reverberates with magnetizing essence beneath progressive bubblers & mischevious tekkers, bringing that bounce to the ounce beloved by the most buoyant of breakbeat babes worldwide. Acknowledging decay yet doing away with dismay, the album is a living document of the timelessness of Roza’s sound & the endurance of her craft collected over two beautiful long playing discs. Each track stretches out over vast expanses of rhythm, unfolding into a perfectly delectable listening xperience influenced by the album-length releases from dance music’s turn-of-the-century golden era. There’s something here for everyone, from the femme fatales ruling the dancefloor with a leather boot, to the stone butches pushing through the blues, & even the weird girls with headphones on having a deep window seat moment. RUST provides inner space for the mental to reflect back into the physical, reminding us that even listening itself is ultimately a muscle vibration that we can flex, expand, & grow alongside. Simmering in marvelous patina with a succulent smile, RUST ultimately revels inside a gloriously decrepit fabulousness, unconcerned with error & letting the kinetic lead the way – giggling in the dark, feeling the rain on our skin, & knowing that sometimes the real beauty lies in the moments between perfection.
