What's Up With Vintage Samplers?

Description

72 pages, full colour, perfect bound, A5 Includes interviews with: DMX Krew, Italo Brutalo, Space Dimension Controller & DJ Beukeboom! FIGI wants to take you along on his journey to find the answer to: what is up with vintage samplers? By interviewing DMX Krew on using his MPC1000 in the studio and on stage, asking away about Italo Brutalo's workflow with his samplers and Space Dimension Controller's wall of vintage AKAI samplers, he's trying to find out why so many great producers are still doing it the ''old school'' way. Covering topics like making your own music come alive, how samplers work, how swing works and research into why the AKAI MPC2000XL actually sounds the way it does. Perfect for producers who are interested in old samplers and might want to use them too, or who want to learn how to create similar artifacts in their own DAW. A fun and hyper nerdy zine, perfect to dive into on your way home from a heavy weekend of clubbing?
