Description

Andi Horvath, also known as Ramone or Hirez, started composing electronic music on the computer in his early youth, beginning with just four channels on the Commodore Amiga. Through his music, he built worldwide connections over the internet as early as the 1990s, long before the WWW boom. It put him in touch with many like-minded people who shared techniques and made music on home computers with little budget. Andi brimming with different ideas, mixed a collection of his own tracks in the spring of 2001 that happened to be his first official long player. LER006 presents a selection from Andi’s - “Don’t Get High On Your Own Supply”, which he programmed on a simple DOS-PC work station, using tracker software (FastTracker). How he turned FastTracker’s hexadecimal system into so many vibrant tracks is something that will likely fascinate everyone who listens. Sadly, Andi did not live to see his music delight fans of instrumental hip-hop, breaks and downtempo. He died, completely unexpectedly, on June 18, 2001. Track B3 is a bonus track: a collaboration between Andi and his friend Ernst, dedicated to Hale-Bopp, the comet that was visible to the naked eye in 1997 and is expected to return in the year 4043. In memory of Andi Horvath, aka Ram0ne.
